Shipton-on-Cherwell is a small village situated just 9 kilometres from Oxford City Centre. The mooring site is on the towpath opposite to Shipton Church. This is a perfect starting point for boaters wishing to explore the stunning Oxfordshire and south Northamptonshire or to connect to the River Thames in Oxford.
The mooring site is 40 metres long and provides space for up to two boats.

- The moorings are opposite the Church in Shipton On Cherwell and approx 20 metres south of Bridge 220, Shipton Bridge.
To reach the site from the main A4260, Banbury to Oxford road, take the road signposted to Shipton On Cherwell. The village centre and Church are approx 500 metres from this junction.
The site is accessed by foot only by taking the footpath over Bridge 220 and onto the towpath.

- The nearest facilities, including drinking water, toilet, rubbish bins and elsan disposal, are on the offside of the canal at Thrupp, approx 600 metres to the south of the site. A pump out is also available by arrangement with Thrupp Canal Cruising Club but will incur charges.
Designated car parking is not available at this site so moorers must make alternative arrangements.
The large village of Kidlington has local services, including shops, supermarket, post office and medical services, and is approximately two miles south of the moorings. Oxford city centre is approximately eight miles, also to the south.

This is a leisure site and is determined by us to be a mooring site for the storage of boats between leisure use, customers may well spend weekends on this site, and occasionally longer periods, but it is not sold as, or intended to be suitable for long term residential use. This site does not have local authority planning consent for residential use, neither does it have the level of facilities and service expected of such a mooring. As such the offer that we have is only intended to meet the needs of a leisure boater.
