Foxton Locks in Leicestershire is one of the jewels of the inland waterways and a perfect place to soak up a history. Our long term mooring site is located in the shadow of the once mighty Foxton Inclined Plane Boat Lift - a Scheduled Ancient Monument. Also close by is the historic lock flight, some heritage butty boats, which you can see from the viewing platform and the grade II listed top lock cottage & stable dating to the 1800s.
There are 12 long term leisure moorings in the bottom basin, at the junction where the Grand Union Canal Leicester Line and Market Harborough Arm meet.
Foxton village is approximately half a mile from the Locks and has some local amenities and pubs. Market Harborough, approximately four miles away, has a wider selection of supermarkets, shops, and banks.

- Additional Information
- Service bollards are installed around the basin, providing drinking water and electricity to each boat. The electricity is supplied via a newly installed, secure Smart Meter system. Electricity accounts and payments are accessed via the internet.
A designated rubbish disposal and re-cycling area is available next to the site. Elsan disposal and toilets are available in the public car park. These facilities are for the use of all boaters and the general public. Please be aware, these are provided by and under the control of the local waterway, they do not form part of the mooring agreement.
There is a tar and chip path with a concrete coping edge running around the basin.
This is a leisure site and is determined by us to be a mooring site for the storage of boats between leisure use, customers may well spend weekends on this site, and occasionally longer periods, but it is not sold as, or intended to be suitable for long term residential use. This site does not have local authority planning consent for residential use, neither does it have the level of facilities and service expected of such a mooring. As such the offer that we have is only intended to meet the needs of a leisure boater.
