Located on the beautiful Monmouthshire & Brecon Canal, Gilwern Wharf is steeped in history. The site was originally built to transport coal, limestone and iron products from the surrounding area using a network of tramways and railroads.
Though isolated from the rest of the Trust's 2,000 mile network, the Mon & Brec, as it is popularly known, is rated as one of the prettiest to be found anywhere on the waterway system.
This mooring site is approximately 80m long and currently provides space for up to 7 vessels moored against the off-side bank.

This is a leisure site and is determined by us to be a mooring site for the storage of boats between leisure use, customers may well spend weekends on this site, and occasionally longer periods, but it is not sold as, or intended to be suitable for long term residential use. This site does not have local authority planning consent for residential use, neither does it have the level of facilities and service expected of such a mooring. As such the offer that we have is only intended to meet the needs of a leisure boater.
